Charles Dickens Small Bust
Charles John Huffam Dickens 1812 – 1870) was an English writer and social critic. He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. His works enjoyed unprecedented popularity during his lifetime, and by the twentieth century critics and scholars had recognised him as a literary genius. His novels and short stories enjoy lasting popularity.
Based on the many illustrations of the time, this bust was sculpted at our workshop in Bath and makes a classic addition to the fireplace, bookshelves or occasional table for any lover of Dickens.
Around the Base
The top of the base includes models of scenes from the tales of Dickens and Victorian England.
The etch around the base reads "IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES, IT WAS THE WORST OF TIMES " from A Tale of Two Cities.
