Malta in WW2
The Second World War was a mid-20th century conflict that engulfed much of the Globe. Between June 1940 and December 1943, Malta was one of the most bombed places on earth. Whoever controls Malta controls the Mediterranean, beause of this simple truth the island was strategically important to the Allies and Axis alike. Malta became the besieged and battered arena for the victory in North Africa and the subsequent invasion of southern Europe. This documentary which is both informative and full with original footage, vividly portraits why the Island was awarded the George Cross.
